What are the limitations of Google Sheets?
Though Google Sheets helps build and deploy value models much faster, it has its own limitations.
File Size
Even though Google Sheets are much smaller than Excel models, the file size should NOT be more than 2 MB.
New Variables
Once a model is used to build the UI and / or the PPT, the cell references automatically becomes code references for the variables. Hence, when the model is updated, ENSURE to add new variables past the columns and rows that have been used.
Tab Names
Tab names CANNOT be changed.
Input and Output Variables
You can change the formulas and values in the existing cells but do NOT interchange input and output variables. What used to be an input variable must remain an input variable; and similarly with output variables.
Google Apps
Google Apps Script is currently NOT supported.
External Links/Sheets
Cells must NOT have references to external links / sheets.
Share
Google Sheet has to be shared with “Anyone with the link”. This restriction will be eliminated in a future release.
Lead Harvester
Google Sheets can only be used for Lead Harvester if a Call to Action triggers calculations. Traditional Lead Harvesters with inputs on the left and chart on the right will NOT work.
Navigation
Google Sheets currently SUPPORTS only 2 level navigation.
