For that, a model needs to be created in an Excel document that captures all the quantifiable data points such as the current performance of a company, the improvements that a particular investment would bring about, and a calculation of the monetary benefits.
Step-by-Step Guide

- Let's take the Lemonade Stand business model as an example to understand the process of creating a Generic file.
- The first step is to collect all quantifiable details from the client. The data would be largely unstructured.

Create an Excel sheet and structure the data by categorizing the given values roughly into three: Discovery, Improvements, and Benefits.

The Discovery worksheet displays the current performance of the company comprising both financial and non-financial aspects of the company.

The Improvements worksheet displays the business efficiency that a particular investment has brought about.

The Benefits worksheet displays the advantages or profits achieved due to the increased business efficiency of the company. This worksheet contains all the calculations for measuring the actual profits.
