Enable the Hide/Show Feature in Value Collaborator

Overview

The hide/show feature in Value Collaborator can be enabled in tabs, sections, tables, rows, columns, and extensions. You can also hide PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PDF, and so on. However, you need to ensure that the Excel model uploaded contains the Enums to allow the hiding and showing of variables when enabled.


Step-by-Step Guide


  1. Follow the steps to Add a Hide Variable/Code Reference in the Model.



  1. Click Value Collaborator on the Visualizer Type page.



  1. Click Prototype on the top navigation. The Prototype page appears.

Hide Tab


  1. Hover the mouse over the tab where you want to enable the hide/show feature. Click the eye icon.




  1. The Hide Tab/Section pop-up box appears.



  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.


  2. Click Done.



  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. You can see the Discovery tab on the Prototype page.



  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the tab (here Discovery) disappears from the top navigation.

  1. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon above the tab and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.

Hide Section


  1. Hover the mouse over the Section where you want to enable the hide/show feature. Click the eye icon.


  1. The Hide Tab/Section pop-up box appears.



  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.


  2. Click Done.


  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.


  1. You can see the section Discovery on the left pane.




  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the section (here Discovery) disappears from the side pane.


  2. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon above the tab and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.

Hide Table


  1. Follow the steps to Add a Simple Table in Value Collaborator.



  1. Click the eye icon next to the table.




  1. The Hide Table pop-up box appears.



  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.


  2. Click Done.


  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. You can see the Table on the Prototype page.



  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the table disappears.

  1. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon next to the table and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.


Hide Column


  1. Follow the steps to Add a Simple Table in Value Collaborator.



  1. Click the table and it expands to show the rows and columns.



  1. Hover the mouse on the column that you want to hide and then click the eye icon.




  1. The Show/Hide Column pop-up box appears.


  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.

  1. Click Done.



  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. You can see both the columns of the table on the Prototype page.



  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the column disappears.

  1. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.



Hide Row


  1. Follow the steps to Add a Simple Table in Value Collaborator.



  1. Click the table and it expands to show the rows and columns.




  1. Hover the mouse on the row you want to hide, then click the eye icon.



  1. The Show/Hide Row pop-up box appears.



  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.

  1. Click Done.



  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. You can see all the rows on the Prototype page.



  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the row disappears.

  1. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.


Hide Extensions


  1. Follow the steps to Add an Image in Value Collaborator or Add a YouTube Video in Value Collaborator, or Add a Chart in Value Collaborator.



  1. Whether it is image, video or chart, all comes under the category named Extensions.



  1. Click the eye icon next to the extension that you want to hide.



  1. The Hide Extension pop-up box appears.



  1. Type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.

  1. Click Done.



  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. You can see all the extensions on the Prototype page.



  1. As per the condition set for the hide code reference, when the value for the Price of Lemonade variable is changed to a value above 5, the hide function starts to work. Hence, the extension disappears.

  1. You can click Save in the top navigation to save the changes made.

  1. To unhide, click the eye icon and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.


Hide Exports


Once you upload a custom PowerPoint, Word, Excel, or PDF file, you can enable the hide/show feature for Exports. For a step-by-step guide, read the documentation on Add Dynamic Variables for Word Export and Add Dynamic Variables for PPT Export.



  1. Click Setting on the Value Collaborator page and then click Export Settings.


  2. Click the Export for which you want to hide the variables. Here it is Hide PowerPoint.



  1. Hide variable in VC exports.pptx tab appears.



  1. Hover the mouse over the tab and you will see an eye icon. Click the eye icon.



  1. On the Hide PowerPoint pop-up box that appears, type the name of the hide code reference in the text box. As the variable appears below, click to select the checkbox.

  1. Click Done.


  1. Click the Save button on the top navigation and then click Prototype.



  1. On the Prototype page, click Export and you can see that the PowerPoint file is hidden from view.


  2. To unhide, click the eye icon and then click to deselect the checkbox.

  1. Click Done and then click the Save button on the top navigation.
